EMMA TURNEY
(Brand & Motion)

I am a graphic designer based in Sydney, Australia. I am currently working as a designer at For The People. I studied a Bachelor of Design in Visual Communication at UTS, and my work has been recognised by D&AD, AGDA and The International Society of Typographic Designers.

I am optimistic about the capabilities of design to shift behaviour and perception, by taking a meaningful approach that is evocative and genuine. I aim to bring my curiosity to all projects that I work on, creating functional outcomes that delight and intrigue.

Darkness Full of Light

Title sequence based off Tony Dietz' climate thriller short story 'Darkness Full of Light'. Trapped in an underwater world, where talk of the surface is discouraged - a young girl discovers a family secret that sparks her curiosity to escape.

My motion sequence leans into the mystery of hidden family histories through image treatment, naive mark-making and symbolism. The viewer becomes a detective as they are taken through a series of clues throughout the sequence.
